CHRISTMAS BARGE LUNCH

On Monday 17 December 2012 41 CERSA Members and friends set sail on the Shropshire Union Canal on a Barge from the Mill Hotel Chester for their Annual Christmas Lunch.   The Cruise lasted 2 1/2 hours while the guests enjoyed a leisurely 4 Course Lunch finishing up with mince pies and coffee.   Many thanks to Bryan Kayley for organising it and providing a difficult but entertaining quiz on route.

TIGER'S HEAD CHRISTMAS LUNCH

On 11 December 2012 on a sunny but cold and frosty day 20 Liverpool CERSA Members met for their  16th Annual Christmas Lunch at the Tiger's Head Norley.   But due to dangerous frozen ground the annual "Alan Nield" walk around Delamere Forest was cancelled.

On the 27 November 2012 28 Members of Liverpool CERSA attended  the November Lunch at The Birches Restaurant Birkenhead adjacent to Conway Park Underground Station.   It was good to see so many old colleagues enjoying the three course meal.

November Walk

NOVEMBER WALK

On 14 November 2012 12 members walked from Aigburth Station via Sefton Park, the newly opened Festival Gardens, Otterspool Prom for lunch at the Harvester Pub Otterspool where they were joined by 7 other members.   The following photos taken by Peter Brindley show the Peter Pan Statue Sefton Park, the walkers entering Otterspool, walking through Otterspool and the newly opened Festival gardens.

Mersey Tunnel Tour & Septmeber Walk

On September 1st a dozen members were given a two hour guided tour of the Mersey Tunnel visiting the Control Room in Georges Dock Building before going underground to the new safety areas and the lower half of the Road Tunnel.   The second photo was taken on the top of Thurstaton Hill during the September Walk.

LIVERPOOL CERSA JUNE WALK

On Wednesday 13 June 2012 despite light rain for part of the walk 7 members set out on the 4 miles round from West Kirby to Hilbre Island and had their photos taken on Little Eye.   Later they werer joined by 7 other members for a meal at the Railway Inn Meols.

FOCERRSA 2012 AGM MATLOCK BATH

Over 80 Members (Including 10 Liverpool CERSA members) attended FOCERRSA's 2012 Annual Break and A.G.M. from the 22 -26 April 2012 at the New Bath Hotel Matlock Bath.   On the Monday evening members gathered for a pre Dinner drink in the Bar and met up with old friends from around the country.   On Tuesday there were long and short walks organised or people could visit local attractions.   On Wednesday a Coach trip was arranged to Bakewell and Hardwick Hall but unfortunately this was the worst day of the week for weather and umbrellas were the order of the day.   On Wednesday evening a raffle was held and 2 Liverpool members won prizes and the evening finished with a Quiz in which Liverpool came third.
