Six members enjoyed a circular walk from The Old Quay Pub in Parkgate via the Old Laundry on to the Wirral Way,along the Rope Walk and up onto Wood Lane. They passed Blackwood Hall and skirted Heswall Golf Course to Gayton Hall which was home to the famous Glegg Family in 1380. King William 3rd stayed the night on his way to Ireland in 1689 and was so impressed with the hospitality that he knighted his host William Glegg. The walk continued down Cottage Lane to the Dee Estuary and followed the river
wall passed the Boat House Restaurant and along the Parade back to the Old Quay Pub which was absolutely packed full of diners. Unable to find seats and after meeting up with three non walkers, they retired to the Red Lion for a very pleasant lunch.
